Signalstoffe. Sie dienen der Kommunikation zwischen Zellen und das Hormonsystem arbeitet eng mit dem Nervensystem zusammen.<\/p>\n<p>Hormone werden in endokrinen Dr\u00fcsen gebildet. W\u00e4hrend exokrine Dr\u00fcsen ihre Sekrete nach au\u00dfen abgeben (z.B. Talgdr\u00fcsen, Schwei\u00dfdr\u00fcsen,\u2026) geben endokrine Dr\u00fcsen ihre Produkte nach \u201einnen\u201c, also in die Blutbahn ab.<\/p>\n<p>\u00dcber den Blutkreislauf gelangen die Hormone an ihre Zielzellen. Dockt das Hormon an den passenden Rezeptor (=Empf\u00e4ngermolek\u00fcl an der Oberfl\u00e4che von Zellen, welche ganz spezifisch f\u00fcr jedes Hormon sind und wie ein Schl\u00fcsselloch und ein Schl\u00fcssel mit \u201eihrem\u201c Hormon zusammenpassen) seiner Zielzelle an, l\u00f6st es in ihr die entsprechenden Stoffwechselvorg\u00e4nge aus.<\/p>\n<p>Einige Hormone werden auch in Geweben gebildet und wandern durch die Zellzwischenr\u00e4ume zu den Rezeptoren ihrer Zielzellen. Manche Hormone arbeiten noch direkter, indem sie auf die Zelle wirken, in der sie produziert wurden, weshalb schon geringe Mengen an hormon\u00e4hnlichen Substanzen gro\u00dfen Schaden anrichten k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eBoss des Hormonsystems\u201c ist der Hypothalamus (ein Abschnitt des Zwischenhirns). Die Hypophyse (=Hirnanhangdr\u00fcse) steuert als wichtigste Hormondr\u00fcse des Organismus die T\u00e4tigkeit der anderen Hormondr\u00fcsen des menschlichen K\u00f6rpers. Sie kann Befehle zur Produktion von Hormonen an andere hormonelle Dr\u00fcsen weiterleiten, z.B. wird bei einem niedrigen \u00d6strogenspiegel FSH ausgesch\u00fcttet, ein Hormon, welches die Reifung der Follikel im Eierstock und somit die \u00d6strogenproduktion f\u00f6rdert. Die Hypophyse kann auch selbst Hormone produzieren, die direkt ihre regulierende Wirkung aus\u00fcben, z.B.
