Bor ist ein Element des Periodensystems. Es wird mit dem Elementsymbol  \u201eB\u201c abgek\u00fcrzt. Bor hat die Ordnungszahl 5 und steht im Periodensystem in der dritten Hauptgruppe (Borgruppe). Es z\u00e4hlt zu den Halbmetallen. Aus diesem Grund ist aus die oft \u00fcbliche Bezeichnung f\u00fcr die 3. Hauptgruppe „Erdmetalle“ nicht korrekt. Bor kommt auch in verschiedenen Industriezweigen vor dadurch dass es vielf\u00e4ltige Anwendungen von Borbindungen hat, zum Beispiel wird es in Waschmittelindustrien, weil es ein sehr gutes Bleichmittel (Natriumperborat) ist<\/p>\n

Bor spielt eine wichtige Rolle f\u00fcr die Landwirtschaft: die Bord\u00fcngung bewirkt Stabilisierung und Verbesserung der pflanzlichen Zellwand. Bor wird auch als Insektizid f\u00fcr Insekten und Gliederf\u00fc\u00dfe verwendet, weil es f\u00fcr die Insekten giftig ist, aber f\u00fcr S\u00e4ugetiere nur wenig giftig ist. Bor besitzt eine au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche hohe H\u00e4rte. Es ist nach dem Kohlenstoff (Diamant) das zweith\u00e4rteste  aller Elemente. Es hat einen sehr hohe Schmelz & Siedepunkt, wobei seine Dichte sogar geringer als die von Kohlenstoff ist. Neben den Schwarzen amorphen Formen kommen auch 4 weitere Modifikationen vor:<\/p>\n
